William J. Brodsky and The Inland Real Estate Group Honored at 2022 Civic Federation Hybrid Awards Luncheon

The Civic Federation’s Annual Civic Awards Luncheon, now in its 40th year, recognizes civic leadership in Chicago. Named for the Federation’s founding members, the Lyman J. Gage Award and the Addams-Palmer Award recognize the outstanding civic contributions of Chicago individuals and institutions.

The 2022 Civic Awards Luncheon honored William J. Brodsky, Chairman, Cedar Street Asset Management LLC & Options Solutions LLC; Chairman, Navy Pier, Inc.; Former Chairman & CEO, Chicago Board Options Exchange, with the Lyman J. Gage Award for Outstanding Civic Contribution by a Chicagoan. In addition to his many career accomplishments, Mr. Brodsky remains committed to numerous cultural, civic and philanthropic institutions, among those being Chairman of Navy Pier.

The Inland Real Estate Group received the Addams-Palmer Award for Exemplary Civic Involvement by a Chicago Institution for its focus on affordable housing, real estate investments in the community and fostering a spirit of volunteerism in its employees, among many more contributions. The Inland Real Estate Group Founders Dan L. Goodwin, G. Joseph Cosenza, Robert H. Baum, and Robert D. Parks accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

On Tuesday, June 14, Chicago’s business, civic and government leaders gathered at the Aon Ballroom at Navy Pier to celebrate the civic achievements of both honorees. “Chicago Tonight” co-anchor and correspondent Brandis Friedman opened the program with the annual salutation address and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot delivered special virtual remarks, following the presentation of the awards. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle joined the event at the Table of Honor.

The Civic Federation greatly appreciates the leadership of event co-chairs Carol Lavin Bernick, Michelle Collins, Lester Crown, Adam L. Hoeflich, Mark Hoppe, Andrew J. McKenna, John W. Rogers, Jr., Maurice Smith and Jennifer W. Steans, as well as the generous support of all who attended both virtually and in-person.
