Call for Nominations for 2017 Transformer Awards

Transform Illinois, a collaborative of elected officials, civic and research organizations dedicated to promoting and supporting local government efficiency efforts in Illinois, is accepting nominations for its third annual Transformer Awards. The awards seek to recognize governments or individuals in Illinois at the state and local level that have streamlined local government, improved the delivery of services and reduced costs. Three types of nominees will receive awards: state, local and citizen transformers.

The following are some examples of qualifications for nominees:

• Worked toward consolidating components of government;
• Simplified or streamlined processes to reduce administrative burden and speed operations;
• Collaborated with neighboring governments to leverage efficiencies and cost savings; and/or
• Changed policies or legislation resulting in greater efficiency.

Nominations can be submitted through this online form. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, September 27. The Transformer Awards will be held in October 2017, with more details to come.
