Posted on August 29, 2005

Chicago Tribune

This article describes the announced possible creation of a new taxing zone in downtown Chicago, intended to defray expenses at Millennium Park and create revenue for improvements to the central business district. It cites the Civic Federation's concern about the effects of such a tax increase following so closely on the recent property tax increases proposed by the City Colleges and passed by the Chicago Public Schools.
