Danny Vesecky

Danny Vesecky (he/him) serves as a Senior Policy & Research Associate at the Civic Federation, where he leads research and analysis on state and local government budgets, with a particular focus on Chicago Public Schools finances, City of Chicago finances and governance, and Tax Increment Financing (TIF). He is the author of Understanding Municipal Debt: A Case Study of the Chicago Public Schools and co-author of Tax Increment Financing: A Primer. His research and commentary on CPS's budget gap, debt burden, and pension costs, as well as on Chicago's fiscal challenges more broadly, are frequently cited in local and national media, including Chalkbeat, Bond Buyer, and The Chicago Tribune. 

Danny holds a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Harris School of Public Policy, where he obtained certifications in Markets and Regulation and in Data Analysis.
