The event begins with a coffee reception at 8:00 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Palmer House Hilton and will feature a welcome speech by Julie Hamos, Director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and a long-time colleague of Mr. Reilly.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and previous Motorola honorees Mary Dempsey, Judy Erwin, Lori Healey, William Holland, Ron Huberman, James Joyce, Sister Sheila Lyne, Shirley Madigan, Jess McDonald, Pam McDonough, Terry Peterson, Ruth Rothstein, and Lois Weisberg are serving as the honorary co-chairs of the event.

The Civic Federation is proud to have the opportunity to honor outstanding non-elected public servants throughout Illinois by co-hosting the Excellence in Public Service Award. The Civic Federation’s mission to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of governments in Illinois depends on the cooperation of people dedicated to public service.
