Description: Civic Federation Board Members heard U.S. Senator Richard J. Durbin's presentation about reform efforts directed at the Cook County Bureau of Health. Senator Durbin highlighted the importance of the county health system and urged the Federation to help champion the immediate need for an independent governing board to lead the bureau. Cook County Bureau of Health Services Review Committee member Dr. Larry Goodman of Rush Medical Center was also in attendance and provided Federation members with an inside view of the work of the commission.
