Civic Federation Special Board Meetings with U.S. Senate Candidates Alan Keyes and Barack Obama

Dates: Tuesday, September 14th, 2004 (Keyes) and Wednesday, October 6th, 2004 (Obama)
Location: Hosted by Exelon, 227 W. Monroe, 12th floor, Chicago, IL
Description: At two Special Board Meetings, Civic Federation members heard presentations by former United Nations Ambassador and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes, and State Senator and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama. The candidates discussed a range of issues including federal transportation funding for Illinois, expansion of O'Hare airport, federal tax reform, and education funding. Following the candidates' presentations, Civic Federation members and guests had the opportunity to direct questions to the candidates on specific issues. Both meetings were well attended and received significant media attention.
