Genevieve Nolan — Senior Research Associate

Civic Federation Senior Research Associate Genevieve Nolan earned her Masters of Science Degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. For her master’s thesis, Genevieve served as co-project manager of a team comprised of nine fellow graduate students in the creation of a science and technology high school for the Pittsburgh Public School system. During her master’s program Genevieve also worked for Senator Richard J. Durbin (D-IL) as a policy and legal analyst during a portion of the 109th U.S. Congressional session. Here she focused her work on issues coming before the Senate Judiciary Committee while working with Senator Durbin’s chief legal counsel.

Prior to attending graduate school, Genevieve worked in the area of racial discrimination, first as one of the nation’s first full-time employment discrimination testers and subsequently as the Director of Compliance for a local fair housing organization.

In addition to her policy education, Genevieve is also a licensed attorney who earned a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While she enjoyed her time away, Genevieve is happy to be home and is looking forward to re-discovering all that Chicago has to offer.
