Susan Charrette — Operations Manager

Before joining The Civic Federation, Susan Charrette was a Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Susan worked in the International Finance Department monitoring Latin American debt and the risk it posed to U.S. banks, including briefing the New York Fed’s president and senior officers.

Susan has also taught Macroeconomics and International Finance both at Brown University and the University of California. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California in San Diego in 1989. While at UCSD, Susan had the opportunity to both study with and work for the 2003 Nobel Prize winners in Economics. She was also a two-time recipient of a U.S. Department of Education Fellowship for Latin American Foreign Language and Area Studies.

Susan holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Spanish from Colby College in Waterville, Maine where she graduated cum laude. Susan is an active volunteer in her children’s schools, where she has run the parent-run foreign language program and served as school board liason.
