Civic Awards
Each year, The Civic Federation recognizes the outstanding civic contributions of individual citizens and Chicago-area institutions.
The Lyman J. Gage Award is named for The Civic Federation’s first president, who was at the forefront of Chicago’s civic and financial circles for many years. The Lyman J. Gage is given in recognition of individuals who have consistently demonstrated dedication to civic concerns in the Chicago area. Notable recipients of the Lyman J. Gage Award include:

The Addams-Palmer Award is named for two outstanding Chicago women who helped form The Civic Federation—Jane Addams of Hull House and Bertha Honoré Palmer. Addams and Palmer both served as founders of the Civic Federation and are widely credited with helping to clean up corruption in local government. The Addams-Palmer Award is given in recognition of outstanding civic involvement by an individual or an institution. Notable recipients of the Addams-Palmer Award include:
